I welcome this week, Veronique Lacloche. She graduated from our MA Game Art course and now is working as a junior Artist at Fabrik Games.
What course did you study?
I studied the postgraduate course for Game Art at Escape Studios

What are you working on at the moment?
Not really at liberty to say but it is indeed a video game

What work are you most proud of working on and was/is your most notable achievement?
I think I’d say my final project at Escape Studios, sure it’s not perfect and there’s room for improvement, but I got to dream up an environment in my head and then create that in 3D, which is my favourite thing to do.

If you had to sum up your time at Escape Studios in one word, what would it be and why?
Late nights! I spent so much time in the studio, many many late nights trying to hit deadlines

What lessons have you learnt during your time studying and your time working in Games?
Work smarter, not harder!

What is your advice for those considering entering the industry?
Perhaps this is obvious, but familiarise yourself with the techniques being used right now, research how things are created! If things come up in an interview, even if you haven’t used that technique before, it looks better if you have an understanding of it.

What’s your favourite game and why?
Tough question, I am going to be cheeky and say I have two favourites because for me , Bloodborne and Breath of Wild are my two favourite games, both very different, but both very wonderful!

Thanks V for the chat as well Fabrik Games.
